The PSI is based on hourly urban background monitoring and is
automatically updated on the www every hour.
The hourly values are raw data.
PSI is used to report air quality over large urban areas
not only in United States but all over the world.
PSI values are derived from PM10, SO2, CO, O3 and NO2 concentrations.
The pollutant with the highest index is used to describe the air quality every hour.
In Stockholm urban area PM10 and O3 concentrations are the critical
pollutants used when applying the PSI scale.
